Guest Speakers

Bend-La Pine Schools values the expertise that Central Oregon has to offer. We appreciate those who want to share their knowledge and experience with our students. If you are interested in being a guest speaker in our schools, please complete the following form to get on our list.

The list is shared with schools and teachers who can reach out to guest speakers as the curricular needs arise. Please do not reach out to schools as this can be very overwhelming to staff.

As you complete the form, we will ask that you are willing to commit to the following:

1. Use language and strategies that are inclusive of diverse identities, experiences, abilities, cultures, and values.
2. Focus on what students can do to improve their experiences (as opposed to focusing on the problem and behaviors to avoid).
3. Avoid scare or fear tactics, sensationalizing, or creating panic or alarm (such as worst-case scenarios and graphic, emotional images) about a problem.  
4. Avoid shaming, blaming, or stigmatizing people who engage in a behavior or experience an issue. Reduce stigma for experiencing the issue and seeking help.
5. Avoid leading students to share personal or private information.
