Academic Counseling: Grade 7

7th Grade Highlights

Seventh grade builds on students' growing independence and self-awareness. Counselors support students in deepening their understanding of academic expectations while beginning to explore future high school and post-secondary pathways.

7th Grade Classroom Instruction (Fall & Spring)

Counselors meet with all 7th graders through classroom lessons that expand on academic planning and personal growth.

Instruction includes:

  • Understanding middle school requirements and staying on track
  • Introduction to high school diploma requirements
  • Accessing academic and personal supports
  • Stress management and coping strategies
  • Continued use of SchooLinks

Through SchooLinks, students:

  • Update goals in Find Your Path
  • Complete the Learning Style Assessment 
  • Strengthen self-awareness and self-management skills
  • Reflect on evolving interests and possible future paths

Life & Career Readiness Fair

Students and families are invited to attend the Life & Career Readiness Fair to explore career fields, educational pathways, and community opportunities.

Ongoing Counselor Support

Counselors monitor academic progress and check in with students as needed. Support includes academic planning, social-emotional skill development, and continued career awareness exploration.
