Elementary Schools

Welcome to Elementary Curriculum and Instruction

In Bend-La Pine, we are dedicated to fostering an enriching educational environment where every student is recognized by name, strength, and need. We believe all students can achieve at high levels and our vision is to ensure that all students graduate equipped for college, career, community engagement, and life. 

Our commitment is to ensure that every student has daily access to high-quality instructional materials that spark curiosity and build a deep, meaningful knowledge of the world. By pairing these world-class resources with highly effective instructional practices, we create a learning environment where academic excellence and life and career readiness go hand-in-hand. We are dedicated to nurturing the whole child—equipping them with the foundational knowledge and "durable skills" they need to navigate their future with confidence and purpose.

 

 

Incoming Kindergarteners

To register for kindergarten, students must be 5 prior to September 1 of the school year. To register, bring proof of age, proof of address and current immunization records.

Our Elementary Schools

Bend-La Pine Schools includes 17 K-5 elementary schools and two K-8 schools . These schools serve approximately 8,000 students. About 1,100 kindergarteners enroll in our schools each year. Bend-La Pine Schools also strives for lower K-2 class sizes and provides additional academic support for students who need it.

In addition to neighborhood schools, Bend-La Pine Schools offers multiple options to meet the individual needs of its students. We call these Choice Option Schools.

Elementary Curriculum

Assessments

Students engage in end-of-unit and performance assessments throughout the year in order to measure current progress toward reading, writing, speaking, listening and vocabulary proficiency. Students receive report cards twice a year, at the end of first semester in early February and at the end of the school year in June.
