Leading through Listening: Student and Community Voices in Bend-La Pine Schools
Background
In January of 2026, the national nonprofit YouthTruth administered surveys in all 33 schools in Bend-La Pine Schools. The effort resulted in hearing from thousands of students, parents, guardians, and school staff community members on topics like, academic challenge, school culture, emotional and mental health.
Key themes include school engagement, academic challenge, culture, relationships, belonging, college and career readiness, emotional and mental health, and school safety.
